Lun Ai, PhD is a postdoctoral research fellow at EMBL-EBI, UK.

He received his doctoral degree at Imperial College London, under the supervision of Prof. Stephen Muggleton. He was given the entry scholarship and awarded an MEng degree in Computing with a specialist in Artificial Intelligence at Imperial College London.

Lun Ai specialises in Inductive Logic Programming (ILP). He is interested in sustainable and user-friendly AI technologies that can help us tackle pressing scientific and societal challenges. His doctoral research focused on AI systems that facilitate better human learning, a key criterion of Ultra-Strong Machine Learning. His recent work explored interpretable logic-based AI systems for biological discovery. His research has been supported by the UK’s EPSRC Human-Like Computing network, the TAILOR network (under EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme) and the UK’s BBSRC AI-4-EB consortium.
